Who owns a luxury yacht?

In this section of the site we focus on which famous, wealthy and interesting people own which superyacht.  We are not talking about the charter of a yacht or merely visiting friends on a yacht for a vacation.  Here we are talking about a celebrity who has actually chosen to purchase or build a yacht of a particular style or type for the long term. Someone who has thought long and hard about their boat. Yachts and their owner’s will be added here over time.  Please come back to see it grow.

The type and style of yacht a person chooses to buy tells you a lot about their personal taste and style; their likes and dislikes.  The type of auto a person drives can tell you something about that person but a yacht can tell you a lot more.  A yacht is a large custom built home and no two yachts are alike.

Everyone would own a luxury yacht if they could.  I would anyway.  Luxury yachts are beautiful things indeed.  Being individually designed by the best designers in the world and then hand built by skilled craftsmen luxury yachts are like huge pieces of living sculpture that glide over the world’s oceans.  When a private yacht is large there is no other yacht the same.  There is no other crew the same and there is certainly no two owners alike.

The type and style of a yacht tells you a lot about that person.  What are their individual tastes?  Modern latest design or older classic? Do they like romantic classic motor boat like Jonny Depp’s yacht?  Do they like extra large yachts like?  Is it and ‘all ocean’ expedition yacht that can explore all parts of the world’s oceans, like Bono’s yacht from U2, or is it a coastal fast yacht design to sip around the fashionable coast lines of St Tropez, Monaco and Capri?  Do they like the sporty sailing yachts which use the wind’s natural forces for propulsion? It also tells you about a person by looking at the yacht they fell in love with.

The interior decoration of a yacht also gives an insight into someone’s likes and dislikes.  Because there are a huge number of yacht types to choose from it tells you about their particular tastes.  Modern interiors are chic, stylish and fashionable.  Classic interiors can be more relaxing – a place for friends and family to get away from it all and feel homely and comfortable: to float away in piece and privacy.

Tiger Woods owns a beautiful new American built motor yacht with relaxed and comfortable interior styling.

What about amenities, extras and water toys?  What can you do on the yacht?  Is there a deck Jacuzzi – somewhere to sip champagne and relax or throw a bikini party!  What type of water toys does the yacht have? Does the yacht have a Jet Ski and water ski speed boat?  What about windsurfers or even a submarine?  Is the celebrity the action and adventure type; is there a compressor for diving?

Tigers Woods Wants Luxury Yacht PRIVACY

Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods

Well its probably not surprising that famous pro golfer Tiger Woods owns a luxury motor yacht being a leading world sportsman.  Tiger named the superyacht PRIVACY because he and family and wife can enjoy the ultimate privacy onboard when they sail away from the media and fans.  Giving him valuable time away from the media buzz, PRIVACY may be one of Tiger’s most important pieces of golf equipment – even more than his putter.

Yacht PRIVACY was built by Christensen Yachts. She is 155 ft long with stabilizers, a Jacuzzi pool and is made from composite material.

However, when you put down $20 million for a luxury yacht and call it “Privacy,”  you probably expect a little discretion from the company that sold it to you. So you can imagine why Tiger Woods was less than impressed at the Vancouver Shipyard Company for allegedly breaching a confidentiality agreement and braging to the world about the golfer’s purchase of the swanky megayacht.

Anyway, all is well now and Tiger and family enjoy cruising the world in privacy and safety.  Interestingly, another famous golfer Greg Norman also built and owned a large luxury motor yacht which is now called FLORIDIAN. It seems both legendary sportsmen have a little more than just golf in common.

Beautiful Kate Moss on Motor Yacht in France

The ever beautiful Kate Moss has been enjoying herself on this luxury motor yacht off the super wealthy Cap-Ferrat, on the Cote d’Azure, South of France. St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat is located between Nice and Monaco and is not far from Bono’s summer house which is on the water front of Eze.

‘News of the World’ has reported that the 33 year old supermodel was vacationing with pal Davinia Taylor.  The two beauties can be seen having summer fun splashing around and swimming off the back of their yacht.

Inflatable rings and other water toys were getting a good work out and Kate also enjoyed basking in the French sun.  Meanwhile, Kate’s new man, 34-year-old guitarist Jamie Hince, was working with his rock band The Kills.

A witness to Ms Moss’ yacht outing said: “Kate spent most of the time in a white bikini bottom which undid at the sides. When it was wet, she changed into a black and yellow one.”

To cap it all off, Kate and Davinia debarked from their boat for a dinner outing at exclusive fish restaurant Le Sloop, also at ST Jean Cap Ferrat.  What a life indeed!
